Choosing The Perfect Travel Destination

Choosing A Hotel For A Romantic Staycation

by Eli Lambert

For the average couple, going on vacation to a tropical island for even a few days can be a costly expense. What about a staycation? Enjoying a staycation is a great way to enjoy a getaway, without breaking the bank; however, this is only the case if you're choosing the right hotel. For an awesome staycation for you and your significant other, here are a few tips to help you choose the ideal property.

Location

When considering location, don't just think about convenience. Location also gives you an idea of the type of guests that typically frequent the hotel. For instance, if the goal is to get a break from your children, don't choose a property near an amusement park or other family-friendly attraction.

The reason for this is that at this type of property, you're likely to have more families staying at the hotel given its close proximity to the attraction. In this instance, you will escape your own children only to end up in the company of someone else's children. Always think about every aspect of the location.

Unique Amenities

Staycations are all about transforming the usual into something unusual. Sure, you might be in your local city, but a staycation can offer a different perspective. Keep this factor in mind when it comes to the amenities that the property offers. For example, a pool, spa and gym are all great, but look for something different.

Something like an outdoor walking trail or a pond on the property can provide a unique hotel experience for your enjoyment. You could even look for a hotel that offers instructor lead aerobics classes for you and your spouse to enjoy. It's all about enjoying something different and having a great time.

Dining Options

Try to look for properties that offer a variety of dining options. For example, in addition to room service, maybe they also have a steakhouse, café and dessert shop on the property. If you're anything like the average couple, you probably won't be venturing off the property much during your stay.If you don't want to end up eating the same thing at every meal, you want a variety of dining options to choose from.

If you can't find a property with a range of dining options, at least look for a property with restaurants nearby that the concierge desk can arrange delivery services with.

When planning a staycation, put just as much effort into choosing your hotel as you would if you were heading out of town. There are plenty of options, like Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce. The greater your effort, the more enjoyable your stay.
